A chrysler V8 and AWD.....what are Oppo's thoughts on the perfect engine/drivetrain combination? Honda K series and a VW DSG? GM small block V8 and a getrag transmission? What do you think would be the best theoretical combination?

Chrysler V8? The LS swap is much better!
My combo would be LS V8 with 8-speed ZF.

Hmmm
How if we take the whole body and put it in top of an Evo?
Top gear style.

I'd want a coyote 5.0 with a 6spd manual, just to be different from every LSx, 2ZJ and cummins swap out there.

I've always wondered what the Interceptor would look like as a coupe. i've never really liked the giant ass piece of glass on the back (which is too bad, cause i love the rest of it)

Lambo V-12 and a Powerglide

Do you mean perfect for the Interceptor? How about the hybrid 5.0 V8 drivetrain from the Lexus LS 600h?

Least creative engine swap ever.

Just take out the old V8 and swap in the new 6.4 hemi, keep swaps in the family.
Also, I would imagine doing a different transmission in one of these is a very hard thing to do. Generally speaking, everything is longer than the 4 or 3 speed these came with. Which would mean you're going to push the transfer case further back ..... which than would mean different length axles. Or at least thats what came to my head.

It was meant as a more broad "What is your favorite" post. I just had the interceptor because I aimed it for one of the dead periods at night where not many people post. I like the interceptor and thing the combo of hemi + AWD is pretty kickass.....in theory at least.

It's done often because it gets shit done.

The perfect engine and drivetrain is the Alfa 3.0 v6 mated to Alfa's rear mounted gearbox driving the rear wheels of a replica Lancia Stratos.
